MISD and ITSM
IT Service Management (ITSM) is an informal agglomeration of references to various management ideas and governance frameworks. The frameworks underlying ITSM often have formal structures, but ITSM itself does not. Thus, MISD could be seen as part of the ITSM panoply.
MISD operates within these other frameworks, or independent of them. MISD deals with IT Support practicality and professionalism, from the lowest operational to the most sophisticated strategic level, regardless of what other frameworks may or may not be in place.
No other IT framework or qualification covers IT support in the same depth, or with the same pan-industry reach.
